Chasing the Light 追光

When I gaze at the sky, witnessing the sunrise from the horizon, its radiant beams shatter the darkness and illuminate the heavens, instilling within me a profound sense of hope. Each morning unfolds its own captivating sunrise scene, meticulously painted by God, the divine creator, with a purpose in mind.

At times, the sky may appear somber and burdened, while on other occasions, it exudes a vibrant and joyous aura. Yet, the sun remains a constant presence, unwavering in its existence. For me, I am fervently pursuing the light, the embodiment of hope. It is because I believe that God’s love and mercies are renewed with each passing morning, never faltering in their unwavering presence. As Lamentation 3:22-23 said: “ It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Once, I was in darkness, but now I am found. I feel reborn, filled with joy from the light. Jesus is my light and He gives me life. As Jesus said in John 8:12: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”If you are searching for hope or answers for your life, ask Him and seek Him.

Lotus Series 爱莲

The lotus is my favorite flower due to its timeless beauty throughout its life cycle. Every time I lay my eyes upon these enchanting blooms, I find myself irresistibly drawn to their allure, spending hours immersed in their presence from every conceivable perspective. The gentle caress of the wind often carries their delightful fragrance, further adding to the sensory experience. Each precious moment spent in the company of lotuses is cherished, for they bring me immense joy and tranquility.

I am drawn not only to the outward beauty of the lotus, but to the quiet grace of its inner meaning. In Chinese culture, it blossoms as a symbol of purity, integrity, and spiritual enlightenment. As the ancient saying,”出淤泥而不染“ (emerge from the mod unstained), the lotus embodied the virtue of remaining noble and untainted amid worldly challenges. It is often associated with the ideals of inner strength, harmony and the pursuit of truth and beauty.

In this series, I seek to express both lotus’s visual grace and its virtuous characters by merging traditional Chinese realistic painting techniques with contemporary splash-ink painting styles.

Love SF

Having resided in San Francisco for over a decade, I have come to regard it as my second home. The city holds a special place in my heart. Whether strolling along the captivating Embarcadero, embarking on invigorating hikes in Golden Gate Park, or witnessing breathtaking sunsets at the Presidio, every moment spent here is a testament to the city’s magnificence. The undulating hills, the ethereal fog, and the serene bay combine to create a truly awe-inspiring landscape. It is often said, “Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, and San Francisco is the second,” a sentiment I wholeheartedly embrace.

Beyond its physical beauty, what truly resonates with me is the remarkable cultural diversity that thrives within San Francisco’s vibrant tapestry. However, it weighs heavily on my heart to witness certain challenges the city faces, particularly the exodus of its inhabitants. In the midst of these concerns, my prayers are fervent, seeking safety and peace for this beloved land. I implore for God’s divine light to shine brightly upon San Francisco, dispelling the darkness that threatens our city. In the words of John 1:5, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” And I invite you to pray with me for the city you love.

The paintings within this series draw inspiration from my walks and hikes, portraying the landscapes that hold my love and hope for San Francisco. It is my sincere desire that more individuals turn their hearts towards God, and that the outflow of people leaving the city decreases. Through my art, I aspire to convey this message of love, hope, and the significance of faith in the face of adversity.

Light of Hope

Image

The Light of Hope series is an inspired collection that seeks to capture the essence of God’s presence through the beauty and radiance of nature. As I reflected on James 1:17, which reminds us that every good and perfect gift is from above, I found solace and encouragement in the idea that God’s blessings are constant and unwavering, much like the heavenly lights that illuminate the world.

The first piece of this series, “Your light sets me free” is a profound and personal expression of your journey from darkness to light, symbolizing the transformative power of faith and the presence of Jesus in my life. It serves as a testament to the hope, joy, and liberation I have experienced since encountering Him. In 2015, I found myself in a place of deep despair, burdened by heavy circumstances that seemed insurmountable. Despite my efforts to regain the joy I once had, I felt trapped in darkness, unable to find relief or solace. However, in 2016, Jesus entered my life and brought about a remarkable change. Through His divine intervention, He called me out from the darkness, offering me a newfound freedom and infusing my life with light.

As John 8:12 said:”I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
